Hi Julia:

Sorry for the delay in responding ot your question. I did have one thought re your search for glass domes. I recently read about Lassco, which is a salvage store, that apparently includes "desks from the British Museum." I'm wondering if they also might, from time to time, have display fictures that they collect and und up reselling. www.lassco.co.uk.

Hi Julia,

Hope you are doing OK: it's a warm day here - I shouldn't be inside on a PC, so best get my act together and out into the sunshine :) !

Just to say the discussion thing on this site seems a little confusing - they system says i've started two but when I click to see them it says i haven't started any! I've asked Kurt the administrator for advice: I'll share it with you if I get any.

Best,

Jerry

Hi

Yes of course I will try to be clearer.

I have understood that your organization is a collaborative team exploring the forms, impact, and possibilities of electronic technologies in contemporary culture; sharing a common interest in improving lives for individuals by improving access to culture, through digital technologies and their creations. You also want to exchange information and develop resources about sociable technologies in art museums exploring new ways of communication, which could be valuable tools for Art Museums when interacting with their audiences.

What I was trying to say was whilst you are exploring the e-artcasting possibilities of the above, within Museums, maybe you could set up, a way in which the public can either see or have further interactive possibilities when viewing a museum based piece of artwork such as an installation that may have e-interactive possibilities? This would mean getting involved in a project within an artist’s artwork, related to the museum, but with another perspective, concept, insight into social awareness and response?

Working with an artist on certain projects could give you another way to understand how people work and think and how that could be transferred into e-techology and in turn become part of or an extension of the artwork?

Hi Julia,
Please read the blog post about adding images to comment boxes. It should be easier than this but for now it's not.
I hope it helps!

Thanks for your message. The location for your new installation sounds very interesting indeed. When will the new exhibition in the WWII vessel open? Have you thought about adding some audio to the space, the heighten the ambiance?

Ahh, that's good, because then if you wanted to you could then delete the image you have selected for the comment box, off the group of photos. The only thing is, is that is a bit of a long process in order to achieve that.

Julia,
I was able to add this embed slide show of the images by copying the embeded code and pasting it in the comment box. Let me see what else can be done, so it does look like you can do these things.

Hi Julia,

Hmm....I see what you mean: although it says you can embed images i can't make it work! Best ask Kurt who is site adminstrator: he is one called "museum" with the avatar that is a mass of orange squares!

Hi Jerry,

Not very sure about the threads, also would like to embed an image when sending a comment. It says you can but not sure how, do you know how?

Hi Julia,

Thanks for your reply. I reckon I may not have quite got the hang of the message threads on here yet: I could find a group on your caravan idea, but not a discussion thread? Let me know if I should be replying "communally" on this in some other way!

Got to zip out and do less esoteric stuff like shopping now....

Best,

Jerry

p.s. as all the messages are time stamped in USA time, I'm slightly out of synch on that too!
